Seven-day Faculty Development Programme concluded at M. M. Modi College, Patiala
Internal quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized Seven-day faculty development programme on the topic of ‘Research Methodology’. This programme was focused at various research methodologies, techniques, emerging technological interventions and different perspectives of research. College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the expert Speakers, resource persons, faculty members and participants and said that the research fields are in a transformation phase and inter-disciplinary approach is the need of the hour. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) B. S. Ghuman, Former Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala. He congratulated the college for providing such platform for researchers and scientists and discussed the importance of theoretical aspects of the research and how big data and digital technology is reshaping the content and dimensions of social and fundamental sciences.
On the second day of the programme Dr. Vikas Deep, USBS, PUP Regional Campus, Talwandi Sabo, Punjabi University, Patiala discussed the importance of constructive research environment and formulation of research design. He also elaborated the SPSS, a software package used for cross-sectional data.
On the third day of the programme Dr. Balvinder Singh Sooch, Associate professor, Department of Biotechnology, Punjabi university, Patiala discussed about the issues related with “Patents and copyrights (IPR) in the process of authorization and authentication of research.
Fourth day started with the discussion on, “Research and Publication Ethics (Plagiarism detection tools)” in which the ethical foundations of research process and the tools and techniques to detect and rule out the plagiarism were discussed by Dr. Gurcharan Singh, Professor, School of Management Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala.
In the next session Dr. Sushil Kumar, Assistant Professor, Chitkara University, Solan, demonstrated how to select a research journal for publication, impact factor, citation, h-index factor and other important factors related with research process. On the sixth day Dr. Jeevan Jyoti, Assistant Professor, University of Jammu, discussed about ‘Preparation of research Proposal for funding in which she told how a research proposal should be written and presented for funding agencies. She also discussed about framework of a research proposal and its component.
On the last day of the programme Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Professor, School of Management Studies, Punjab University, Chandigarh discussed about the various research opportunities available and how one may approach different research agencies for up- gradation of their knowledge and for better career choices.

ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਸੱਤ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਡਿਵੈਂਲਪਮੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ
ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਇੰਟਰਨਲ ਕੁਆਲਿਟੀ ਇੰਸ਼ੋਰੈਸ਼ ਸੈੱਲ (ਆਈ. ਕਿਊ. ਆਈ. ਸੀ) ਵੱਲੋਂ ‘ਰਿਸਰਚ ਮੈਥੋਡੋਲੋਜੀ’ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਸੱਤ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਡਿਵੈਂਲਪਮੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਅੱਜ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ।ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਖੋਜ-ਵਿਧੀਆਂ, ਖੋਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ, ਖੋਜ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਤਬਦੀਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਢੰਗ-ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਖੋਜ-ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦੇਣਾ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ.ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ-ਮਾਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਖੋਜ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਤਬਦੀਲੀਆਂ ਆ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਖੋਜ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਸੀ ਸੰਵਾਦ ਤੇ ਅਦਾਨ-ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ੍ਹ ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ,ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਡਾ.ਬੀ.ਐੱਸ.ਘੁੰਮਣ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ।ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਖੋਜ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਖੋਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਕ ਪੱਖਾਂ ਤੇ ਥਿਊਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਹਤੱਵਪੂਰਣ ਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ। ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿੱਗ ਡਾਟਾ ਤੇ ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਤਕਨਾਲੌਜੀ ਨੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਖੋਜਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੂਲ-ਭੂਤ ਖੋਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਧੀ-ਵਿਧਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲਾਉ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਾਵਸਤਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਲਾਜ਼ਿਮੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਦਿਨ ਡਾ.ਵਿਕਾਸ ਦੀਪ, ਐਂਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਰੀਜਨਲ ਕੈਂਪਸ, ਤਲਵੰਡੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਖੋਜ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਲਈ ਢੁੱਕਵਾਂ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਵਧੀਆ ਖੋਜ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨ ਦੀ ਰੂਪ-ਰੇਖਾ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵਰਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਡਾਟਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਤੇ ਵਰਤਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਸਾਫਟਵੇਅਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਤੀਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ.ਬਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੂਚ, ਐਸੋਸੀਏਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਡਿਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟ ਆਫ ਬਾਇਉਟੈਕਨੌਲੌਜੀ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਖੋਜ-ਪ੍ਰੀਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤੇ ਬੌਧਿਕ ਸੰਪਤੀ ਵਰਗੇ ਮਸਲਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਦਿਨ ਡਾ.ਗੁਰਚਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਸਕੂਲ ਆਫ ਮੈਂਨਜਮੈੱਟ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ‘ ਖੋਜ ਕਾਰਜ ਤੇ ਪਬਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਐਥਿਕਸ’ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਖੋਜ ਦੀ ਚੋਰੀ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਅਗਲੇ ਸ਼ੈਸਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ.ਸ਼ੁਸੀਲ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਐਂਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਚਿਤਕਾਰਾ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਸੋਲਨ ਨੇ ਪਬਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਲਈ ਰਿਸਰਚ ਜਨਰਲ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ, ਇੰਮਪੈਕਟ ਫੇਕਟਰ, ਸਾਈਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਤੇ ਐੱਚ-ਇੰਨਡੈਕਸ ਆਦਿ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਛੇਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਡਾ.ਜੀਵਨ ਜੋਤੀ, ਐਂਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਜੰਮੂ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਨੇ ਖੋਜ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਲਈ ਫੰਡ-ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਰਤਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਢੁਕਵੇਂ ਰਿਸਰਚ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲ਼ਿਖਣ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੁਤ ਕਰਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਦਿਨ ਡਾ.ਸੰਜੀਵ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਸਕੂਲ ਆਫ ਮੈਨਜਮੈੱਟ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਚੰਡੀਗ੍ਹੜ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖੋਜ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਖੋਜ ਕਾਰਜਾ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਢੁਕਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਰਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ।ੳਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਖੋਜ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ-ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸਦੇ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ ਤੇ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਮਦੱਦ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਚਾਰੂ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਈਸ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਸੈਂਲੈਦਰ ਸਿੱਧੂ, ਕਾਲਜ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਡਾ.ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ.ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ, ਡਾ.ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ.ਹਰਮੋਹਣ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ.ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੇਠੀ,ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ.ਦੀਪਿਕਾ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ, ਡਾ.ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ ਸੰਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ.ਸੰਜੀਵ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ.ਭਾਨਵੀ ਵਾਧਵਨ ਦਾ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਰਿਹਾ।ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਡਾ.ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ।
